College [01 Mar 2003|12:15pm] [ mood | anxious ] [ music | Queen of the damned Soundtrack ] So ya, it's been a while since I've talked on here... Not much has been going on. I've been waiting to hear from my colleges, and this is what I'm at so far: Anna Maria College- Pending Cedar Crest College - Accepted Endicott College - Pending Johnson and Wales University -Accepted University of New Haven - Pending New Haven is my top choice, so I could really care less about the other schools. I'm stoked that I've been accpted into two schools, but New Haven's what I'm holding out for. New Haven and Cedar Crest (an all girls school *shudder*) are the only schools in this part of the country that offer my major - Forensic Scienes. Yeah, I know gross, but hey, it rocks my world. I applied to the other three schools as a CJ, criminal justice major, and figured that I'd try and transfer in to new haven if I didn't make it in. Well..... I'm still waiting, and it's killing me, so hopefully I'll hear from em soon, if I don't die from waiting. 1 comment|post comment

Mock Trial [17 Jan 2003|11:16pm] [ mood | accomplished ] [ music | the wonderful hum that is my computer ] Well today my legal studies class had a 6 hour mock trial. We were the defense in the case of the State vs. O'Neill. Our client, Mr. O'Neill was charged in the murder of his wife, Helen. We worked and built this case for over two months, and today today it finally paid off. There are two legal studies classes, one the prosecution, the other the defense. Needless to say the jury liked us and we caused enough doubt to have a unanimous vote of not guilty. Was a wonderful feeling to win after such a long of preperation. The trial itself was a bit nerve-racking. Being up infront of a huge crowd (50 students, 7 jury members, 1 judge and around 50 or so people that came to watch) was scary but we pulled it off. The trial was as real as a mock trial could get, complete with arguments, sidebars and objection after objection. It was an amazing learning expierence and one I'll cherish forever. Ironically enough I have to write a reflective essay on the trial.. and just free writting like this, I think I just wrote it! hahaha gotta love lj :) post comment
